Although it is a bird that is present in the plain of Lleida all year, during the cold months many specimens arrive from central and northern Europe, avoiding the snow that deprives them of food. It is a raptor that is very common to see above the telegraph poles or at the top of the trees, as they use these as watchtowers to see their prey better.

Apart from feeding on rodents, rabbits and small birds, it can also be seen on the roads eating dead animals. When the weather is good, their flight is very much like an eagle, but it is medium in size, smaller than the eagle.
